A 75-ball bingo game is played on 5x5 cards, meaning, the cards have five horizontal lines spread across five columns, with the center square marked as free (as opposed to 90-ball bingo, which has three horizontal lines spread across nine columns).
Regardless of the type of game, bingo always remains the same: mark off the numbers to get the winning pattern on your card. However, compared to 90-ball bingo, 75-ball bingo has a dramatically diverse number of desired patterns, ranging from a single horizontal, vertical or diagonal line to much more complicated card patterns such as a diamond, the number "8," the letters "L," "O" and "V," the popular "coverall" game and other themes.
In contrast, 90-ball bingo usually involves the same One Line, Two Lines and Full House theme. In other words, the object of the game is to become the first player to completely mark out all the numbers in one line, in two lines or in all three lines (Full House).
There are two reasons why 75-ball bingo is a faster game than 90-ball bingo. First, some of the patterns are easier to complete and, second, simply because the numbers are called out much more quickly in 75-ball bingo.
Both games are said to be of equal excitement. Players usually choose which type of game they play because of their geographical location rather than any personal preference, so it's really hard to say which of the two is the more entertaining game.
