A 90-ball bingo game is one of the two types of bingo played online all over the world. The other type of bingo is 75-ball bingo.
In terms of popularity, 90-ball bingo is huge in the UK, Australia and parts of Europe and South America, while 75-ball bingo is popular in North America.
A 90-ball bingo game is played on 9×3 cards, meaning, the cards have three horizontal lines spread across nine columns, with each line having five numbers or a total of 15 numbers for the entire card (as opposed to 75-ball bingo, which has five horizontal lines and five columns, with the center square marked as “free”). On the first column are numbers from one to 10, the second column has numbers from 11 to 20, and so on and so forth until the ninth column, which has numbers from 81 to 90.
A regular 90-ball bingo game will have three stages, marked as One Line, Two Lines and Full House. In a One Line game, the first player who is able to completely mark a horizontal line (meaning, five numbers in a line marked) is declared the winner. In a Two Line game, the first player to completely mark two horizontal lines (meaning, 10 numbers in two lines marked) is the winner. The big prize of a 90-ball bingo game is awarded in a Full House game, where the first player who is able to completely mark all horizontal lines on his card (meaning, 15 numbers in three lines marked) is the winner. There are different prize structures for each of these games, but the biggest prizes are generally awarded for Full House winners.
As opposed to 75-ball bingo, which has many and more complicated themed patterns, 90-ball bingo is much simpler and, as such, should be the preferred game for neophytes to online bingo. The 90-ball version is also slower than the 75-ball version, although it certainly isn’t any less exciting than its 75-ball counterpart.
Perhaps the most popular online 90-ball bingo game in the world is the UK’s National Bingo Game, which was legalized in 1986.
