With odds the same as Pete Doherty becoming Arch Bishop of Canterbury, 93 billion to one, Darryl Howe is the luckiest bingo player on record
In January 2010 Darryl Howe from Gloucestershire won £18,000 at William Hill Bingo just 40 minutes after he had opened the account. This was not only an amazing win but made him a potential world record holder!
Dave said "I guessed it was just beginners luck when I won, and the money is smashing to have for the New Year, but I was totally gobsmacked when William Hill told me how extraordinary the game was and the odds of that happening. I might get my name in the record books!"
The amazing thing about this win was not the amount but the fact he was a first time player combined with the speed with which he won. He got a full house (15 numbers) in a 90 ball bingo game in just 23 calls, which is possibly the fastest ever full house in 90 ball and the odds of this phenomenal win is 93 billion to one.
William Hill calculated that this win had the same odds as the next British Prime Minister being voted for on a playboy channel reality TV programme, The Natural History museum confirming Dinosaurs died from tobacco addiction, Amy Winehouse winning Mastermind and becoming head of Eton college or Pete Doherty becoming the next Archbishop of Canterbury.
Jennie Prest of William Hill Bingo said, "None of our staff or customers with vast bingo playing experience have ever seen a game unfold as quickly as this one. We believe it is a record and are exploring the possibility of getting in the Guinness Book of World Records. We can't find examples of a quicker 90 ball game, but are interested in hearing from anyone who knows more - at those odds, it must be very rare!"
