Recent miserable weather aside, there’s little to dampen our spring spirit over at Wink Bingo right now. With a huge upcoming £6k game on the cards in the next few weeks, there’s a definite spring in our step with their Spring Fling game. The guys are great for seasonal online bingo promotions – so if you fancy a bit of a flirt, read on for the best how to for Wink Bingo’s £6k Spring Fling game!

In a hurry? Here’s a little snapshot of what to expect:

When: Saturday 26th May, 10pm

What: An 90-ball bingo game with a total £6k prize fund on offer

Where: Playing exclusively at Wink Bingo

Prices: £2 per card, potential to get FREE bingo cards for the game

Prizes: £3k full house prize with £1.5k 2-line prize and £1k 1-line prize AND a £500 1TG

That caught your interest and want to know more?! Keep on reading for the indepth guide!

Where Can I Find it?

Unlike some of the other one off games we profile here, this one is specifically for Wink Bingo fans only – with the game open to Wink Bingo members and no one else. It’s one of the many big one-off games that Wink Bingo regularly host – and if this is your first time trying one out, well, you are certainly in for a treat…

What Can I Expect?

The £6k Spring Fling has a great guaranteed prize pot of £6,000 big ones for those that make it to the winners circle. The game is a 90-ball bingo game – so online bingo fans that love more ways to win should definitely form an orderly queue now, as you get THREE chances to win a prize.

Get one line and you’ll scoop a share of £1k – or perhaps, if no one else wins, you’ll walk away with the lot. Two lines will get you £1,5k, and the full house winner will get the lion’s share with a £3k prize.

Like we said, the game is guaranteed, which means no surprises about prizes – what you see is what you get.

Top Tip: The £6k Spring Fling comes with a 1TG prize pot – so if you find yourself missing out on the main full house prize by just 1 ball (aka stuck at 1TG – 1 to go) then you will be rewarded for your efforts with a share of a £500 consolation fund… not bad eh?!

How Do I Get Involved?

If you fancy your chances, then Wink Bingo is where you need to be heading. Like all their big money games, this one comes with the chance to pre-buy your tickets in advance, with tickets available to purchase from now right up until the game starts on the 26th May.

Tickets will cost you £2 (you can find them in the Wink Bingo lobby) and there is a minimum purchase of 1 ticket, and a maximum of an eye-popping 96 cards per player.

Top Tip: It’s super tempting to just hit max out and blow a load of money on cards – but don’t forget to set aside your money so you’re not disappointed. Stagger out your card purchases on a weekly basis and that way you can still stick to your bingo budget and not put all your eggs in one basket.

There’s also a special tip for players on a budget, with Wink Bingo offering free bingo cards for their players, meaning you could win the lot for absolutely nothing!

Getting your FREE bingo cards!

If you fancy a bit of a flirt for free, you’ll have to do a little more than flutter your eyelashes at Wink Bingo, but what the heck, you’ll be getting your cards for absolutely nothing.

Again, like with most of their bigger jackpot games, Wink Bingo are offering online bingo players the chance to play for free by earning points in the run-up to the game. Bag 500 points and you can get 1 free bingo card into the game – but you’ve only got until the 20th of May to rack up the points.

Here’s a quick look at how you can earn them:

And don’t forget, at midnight on the 21st May, you’ll no longer be able to claim points or free cards.

Top Tip: Sign up to Wink Bingo’s facebook page and you’ll also be able to find extra ways to win some free cards over the next few weeks. Likewise, you’ll find plenty of extra freebies in their weekly Wink Bingo newsletter, so make sure you are in the loop…

Now, either way you play it, you’ll still have to be a funded Wink Bingo roomie to take part in the £6k Spring Fling. So if you haven’t signed up to Wink Bingo, here’s a quick how to…

Signing up to Wink Bingo

It is super simple to get on board the Wink Bingo site – all you have to do is hit one of the join now buttons (you can even get straight to the site by hitting the button up top…) and you’ll be taken through to the following sign up page:

BUT also, it’s hugely profitable when you make your first deposit! Wink Bingo offer a whopping 200% sign up bonus for new players, which basically means you’ll get £20 in freeplay funds when you deposit just a tenner into your account.

The guys accept plenty of different payment methods, so you can choose one to safely, simply and securely top up your account. AND when you do deposit, you’ll find a fab little tab appear in your Wink Bingo lobby for their Spin the Wheel promotion. With up to £1,000 in bonus funds available, it’s an added little welcome that works a little something like this:

And that as they say, is that. Your ultimate guide to getting your Spring Fling on and bagging £6k in the process – all that is left to say is GL roomies!

Which means if you put in just £10, you’ll start off your balance with an extra £25 worth of free playing funds!

Top Tip! You can get your pre-buy cards right up until the big night itself, giving you the perfect chance to budget for the big game over the next few weeks. Set aside your big game money and buy tickets as and when and you’ll soon see them stack up!

The FREE Way!

Of course, not everyone wants to splash out £2 a pop, and understandably so, which is why the guys at Joy of Bingo all team up to offer you free bingo entries into the game.

Every time you play bingo and instant games at the Joy of Bingo sites over the next few weeks, you can rack up the points and these will be converted on the 27th May into FREE BINGO CARDS for the game.

The magic number here is 500 – every 500 points you accumulate, you’ll be able to convert into 1 free bingo card for the big game.

So how can you scoop up some points eh? Well, here are the tasks according to the Joy of Bingo sites:

Call us crazy, but over the last few weeks, we can’t help but notice that some big name online bingo sites are mixing it up for their roomies with site makeovers. It must be down to the fact that Spring is well and truly in the air, but plenty of online bingo sites are ringing the changes with new additions to their site.

Most of the changes seem a teensy bit superficial, with sites like Foxy Bingo and Bet365 Bingo refreshing the look of their websites rather than adding too many things to their respective lobbies. For some sites, having a little bit of a facelift is the perfect way to attract new customers, whilst also keeping their old ones entertained and on their toes.

We’ve noticed Foxy Bingo have definitely shifted to a more streamlined look, with less of the marketing bumpf and more emphasis on their big money games.

A similar thing has gone down over at Posh Bingo, which has recently unveiled a brand new look just in time for their upcoming birthday celebrations – a well deserved change around we have to say, as Posh’s looks sometimes veered on the wrong side of classy in our opinion!

And sure enough, Bet365 Bingo have done a similar thing, with the site looking a lot more racier in the process, and perfectly showcasing their new sponsorship of Emmerdale, nabbed from the guys at Tombola Bingo.

And speaking of Tombola, as we said in this week’s online bingo roundup, the guys have also added a new game to their lineup, scrapping their Bingo Knockout room in favour of Bingo 60, which gives you five chances to win a share of five different jackpots in every single game. We love the fact that Tombola Bingo have clearly responding to player demands and mixed things up a little – sites that get stuck in a rut can definitely suffer as result.

Which leads us rather nicely to our main point – we can’t help feeling these efforts from some of online bingo’s major players are definitely in response to a huge wave of brand new bingo sites that have revealed themselves over the last few months.

Whether it’s Big Brother Bingo, Robin Hood Bingo or the tons of rumours we’ve heard about brand new site M8ts Bingo (keep your ears to the ground roomies, as we have plenty more to follow on that soon…), new online bingo sites seem to be stronger than ever, making this little world of online bingo that bit more competitive.

Staying on top of the competition by looking your very best is the only tactic bingo sites are using to keep us roomies interested – but we definitely salute Posh Bingo, Foxy Bingo, Tombola and Bet365 Bingo for their continued efforts!

What do you think of the changes at Foxy, Posh et al?! And more importantly, which bingo sites do you think are in need of a bit of a spruce up?! We’d love to hear your thoughts – sound off in the comments below!

Here’s what the promo schedule looks like for this week:

There’ll be a new round of promos up next week and the week after until the 30th of April – which means a clear 14 days of some great savings and freebies until then.

Sounds pretty sweet eh?! Well, you’ll be delighted to know it’s easy peasy to get entry into this mad house.

How to sign up…

All you have to do is sign into your Paddy Power Bingo account and you’ll be able to ‘Opt In’ to the promotion. Lookout for the button in the lobby, or alternatively, look under the promo page on the Paddy Power Bingo site. Click on the Month of Madness promotion and you’ll find the Opt In link – to make it even quicker, the guys have included a link that looks like this on their promo button:

DON’T FORGET! If you haven’t signed up to Paddy Power Bingo already, you’re in for a real treat, as Paddy Power Bingo are offering £20 free for their new recruits. Sign up, deposit and spend £5 within 48 hours, and you can claim an automatic £20 bonus credited direct to your account – and you’ll also be eligible for their Month of Madness promos!

You will have to Opt In before you can start using your codes and claiming your freebies – so make sure you click before you get too giddy!

What else can I expect?
If that’s not enough for you, or perhaps you are wondering how this all tots up to £1million in extra prizes, well, you’ll be pleased to know there is also a separate Month of Madness mini tourney running in the middle of April.

Although there are only two days left before the tourney ends on Thursday 19th April, all you have to do is earn 20 Star Points to qualify for a share of £3,000 worth of star points – a total of 3million points to be shared out equally amongst Paddy Power Bingo roomies.

What are Star Points we hear you cry?! Well, it’s all part of Paddy Power Bingo’s loyalty scheme, where you can earn Star Points to swap for free bingo play. Every 1,000 points gets you £1 of bonus cash for your account, and as you earn more, you move up their reward scheme, leading to bigger amounts of points and so more prizes in the process!

What’s more, the guys are also running a general tourney, with the player who accumulates the most points winning 1,000,000 points all to themselves – which at a whopping £1,000, is definitely not a prize to be sniffed at!

You can earn points really easily by playing bingo and online bingo slots at Paddy Power Bingo. FYI, here’s a quick recap of what you can earn and where:

TOP TIP! You’ll have to opt in separately if you fancy flexing your competitive muscles in the Month of Madness tourney – look under the promo entry for more details.

In short – there’s plenty to be getting stuck into at Paddy Power Bingo right now. If you fancy reading up about them, take a peek at our Paddy Power Bingo review – or if you wanna dive in, follow the link at the top to get straight to the heart of the action. In fact, there’s a bumper week of new additions to the world of bingo right here in our weekly roundup. Clearly the online bingo world has gone a bit mad for new beginnings, as there are everything from brand new £20k online bingo jackpot games, site makeovers and a fab new holiday giveaway waiting for you. Find out all the details right after the jump!

Tonight, you’ve got the chance to bag £1,000 for just 10p – and keep your eyes peeled, as we have a sneaky suspicion Foxy Bingo have still got some extra £10k free bingo jackpots up for grabs as well…

Sun Bingo – £10k cash freebies!

Another week means another £10k cash giveaway at Sun Bingo, who are shelling out the free bucks all throughout April. Make a regular daily date with Sun Bingo this week and you could find yourself with a nice little thank you in the process – and with two more weeks left of the promotion, you’ve got no excuse to stay away!

Gala Bingo – get some sun with holiday getaways!

We are loving Gala Bingo’s newest promotion, which kicks off today and has no less than 14 chances to bag yourself 7 nights in a sunny location. Gala Bingo’s fortnight of holiday giveaways starts tonight at 8.30pm, with cards costing just 25p a pop.

Get packing and grab your passport, as this one runs every single night from now until the 29th April. Tickets can be bought in the Gala Bingo lobby – and don’t forget to top up your account for tickets!

Tombola Bingo – brand new £20k bingo game!

The guys over at Tombola Bingo seem to have a bit of thing for adding weird and wacky variants of bingo to keep their roomies happy – and the newest addition, their fab new Bingo 60 room is sure to be a crowd pleaser. It works a little bit like the 5-line bingo games we’ve seen popping up at various bingo sites, only this time, Tombola are adding 5 different jackpots to their Bingo 60 games depending on how much you wager. Cards can cost from 25p to £2, with jackpots ranging from £125 right up to £20,000. It’s already a hit amongst Tombola Bingo’s fantastic community – if you fancy joining them, don’t forget, there’s a fab £20 bonus for free when you do sign up today.

Bet365 Bingo – £10k and free bets!

Bet365 Bingo clearly understand the woes we all go through when another working week begins – which is why they have two fab promos to herald the start of a new week in real style. First up is their fab Free Bet feature – which basically means if you spend £5 playing their featured game, you’ll receive £5 bonus back to have another go and boost your chances of grabbing a win. This Monday’s featured game is A Night Out – so be sure to look out for it in the Bet365 Bingo lobby. And speaking of the lobby, whilst you’re there, don’t forget to stock up on your pre-buy cards for tonight’s big game lineup below:

There’s £10k to be won tonight, with a £1,000 whopper at 11pm. At just 50p a card, it’s well worth staying up for – even if it is a school night!

Fancy Bingo doesn’t like their online bingo players to be rushed off their feet, as they should be sat at home with their feet up enjoying a cup of tea, a sneaky biscuit and a couple of their favourite bingo games. However, they know this isn’t always possible, what with the washing-up piling on up in the sink and the hovering needing to be desperately done, so they came up with their unusual ‘Easter Easy’ promotion.

This fabulous promotion hasn’t just been created to make your Easter easy, but more your everyday life. How? It will be giving away some great time saving gadgets, so that you can stop sweating the small stuff and just chill out and enjoy yourself instead.

Get Collecting Your Easter Eggs

On Monday the 16th of April, Fancy Bingo will be hosting four different prize draws and to gain an entry, you just have to act like the Easter bunny and collect yourself some Easter Eggs. You can earn one Easter egg per day up until Sunday the 15th of April, just by either spending a fiver on their bingo or instant games. In fact, you could have some Easter Eggs already and not even know it. Want to check? Then there is a link on their ‘Easter Easy’ promotional page labelled ‘Show Easter Egg Count’, just click on it when you are logged into your account and like magic the number of Easter Eggs, you have managed to collect will be revealed to you.

What Will Be Given Away?

As we were previously saying, Fancy Bingo will be putting on four different prize draws, each with a different prize. You just have to collect a set amount of eggs to be entered into that specific prize draw. Interested? Then make sure you check out the below:

Collect 3-5 Easter Eggs to be entered into a prize draw to win £100 worth of Homebase vouchers. These can be spent on whatever your heart desires from the popular do it yourself store – From a new lawnmower to some tiles for the bathroom, it will be up to the winner.

Collect 6-8 Easter Eggs and your name will be entered to win a top of the range Samsung washing machine. Not only will this machine leave your clothes fresh and clean, but it will also hold up to 6kg of washing, which means that you will have fewer washes to do.

Collect 9-11 Easter Eggs and you may be able to chuck away those pesky washing up gloves, as the winner of this prize draw will be sent a BEKO dishwasher. Not only will this dishwasher leave all of your plates squeaky clean and your glasses sparkling, but it can also fit up to 12 different place setting inside it at one time.

Collect 12 or more Easter Eggs during the promotional period and you will be able to play for Fancy Bingo star prize. This is really hi-tech stuff, as they will be giving away a swanky Vacuum Cleaning Robot. This handy little robot just needs to be turned on and placed in the room you want cleaned and he will make his way around the room, hovering whilst he goes. Unfortunately, he hasn’t yet conquered stairs (as were not quiet yet at i-Robot technology), so you will still have to do them yourself.

Fancy Bingo will randomly select one bingo player from each of the four prize draws on Monday the 16th of April and will send the jammy winners an e-mail notifying them of their win.

Want to Take Part? But you’re Not a Member?

This doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to take part, as all you will have to do is fill in the easy peasy registration form by clicking on the ‘Register Now’ link and if you decide to supply them with your credit or debit details, then they will even bung you a free five pound bonus for your trouble – what a lovely welcome!

If you are wondering why you have to give them your credit or debit details, when you are not yet making a deposit at their site, then this is nothing dodgy. They simply need this information to validate that you are actually over 18 years of age. As no one under the age of 18 can legally play at their internet bingo site.

When you do put some of your own pennies into your online bingo account, then you may want to have a little think before you just go ahead and whack a tenner into your account….as Fancy Bingo will also give you a 300% bingo bonus on top of your first ever deposit. So deposit a tenner to have forty quid to play with, or if you deposit £20, you would have £80 to play with and so on.

Have You Seen Our Bingo Slider?

Looking for cheap bingo games? Then check out our handy ‘Find a Bingo Room’ slider at on our homepage and you will be able to find and search all the your favourite bingo sites that best suit your budget. It’s quick, easy and super helpful, you’ll find your perfect room before you can even shout ‘BINGO’.

If you fancy mixing and matching, of course you can sign up to other bingo sites that are in on the action and have a pop there alongside your usual choice.
So, there you have it – your complete guide to grabbing your share of a one in a million, one million prize. With all that in mind roomies – get yourselves over now, and here’s to a very happy Easter hunt – GL GL GL!!!

If you start playing online bingo and find yourself moving across a couple of sites, you may… Read more…

If you start playing online bingo and find yourself moving across a couple of sites, you may experience a mild case déjà vu. Step onto one site, and although it doesn’t perhaps have the same name or same homepage, you may find that in the lobby, things start to look a little familiar. It’s not that you are seeing double as such – it’s just you’ve happened across two sites in a bingo network.

With estimates of the number of online bingo sites stretching well into the 500 mark, it’s perhaps no surprise that some online bingo operators would partner up. After all, there are only so many online bingo games out there – and only so many players that will be able to play at them. So in the most simple terms, a bingo network is made up of sites that agrees to partner with each other, sharing their pool of players.

A huge proportion of online bingo sites in the UK operate on a bingo network of some sort, with standalone or proprietary sites the exception rather than the norm. And once you start delving into who shares what, things can get increasingly complicated.

With this in mind, we’ll be addressing and unpicking the web of online bingo networks; looking at what they are, why there are so many – and which ones are worth your time.

Let’s start with looking in a little more detail at what a bingo network really is.

What is a Bingo Network?

In simple terms, a bingo network is a collection of online bingo sites that decide to share games and space across the network. To understand this a little more, it’s important to make a distinction between the front end of a bingo site, and the back end.

1.1 Front end of JackpotJoyBingo

A front end is basically what you see when you land on a bingo site – so the design of the homepage, the promotions page and so on. In industry terms, this is called the skin – so when you hear talk of re-skinning a website, it means the site has undergone a bit of a superficial makeover.

Lobby of JackpotJoyBingo – part of the Gamesys back end.

The back end of the website is the software that website runs on. So for example, if you use a WordPress blog, the back end of your website is provided by WordPress, With online bingo sites, the main area that sites will share their resources is through the software they use to power their online bingo games.

Which means once you’ve inputted your details and signed in to your account and found the lobby, you’ll be using a particular type of bingo game software.

So let’s say you play at bingo site A, site B and site C, who all happen to be on the same bingo network. When you sign in to any of these, you’ll notice that their respective lobbies are almost identical, with the same number of rooms and players in them.

The idea is that Site A, Site B and Site C all act as a type of portal to a bigger bingo space shared between the three, where players and games are exactly the same. This is also known as White Label Gaming, where basically, each site is it’s own label to the same end product.

The Benefits of Online Bingo Networks

The number of sites operating on an online bingo network suggests there must be plenty of benefits involved. Check out the following reasons for a quick overview of operator benefits:

a) Liquidity

b) Start up costs

c) Market share

a) Liquidity

The reasons are all pretty much interlinked, but we’ll discuss them separately anyway. Liquidity basically means how much money is coming in and out at the same time – so how much an operator has to play with.

From the network owners’ point of view, being linked to ten sites that funnel ten players into their product means 100 players, something that might be easier to achieve than getting those 100 players from one site alone.

b) Start up costs

This is more related to the operator of the bingo site itself – signing onto a bingo network reduces plenty of costs and so allows plenty of new bingo sites to enter the market without having to invest too much.

If your back end is taken care of by a network, then all you have to focus on is making the front end look nice – and considering the development costs of creating bingo games aren’t particularly cheap, it allows new competitors to add their offerings to the table in a cost and time effective way.

c) Market Share

Linked to the idea of liquidity is the market share an online bingo network can generate.

This can be calculated as the proportion of total players that play at sites run by an online bingo network. So an operator of an online bingo network that has five sites using it’s software and back end will find more users – and so a greater market share – are actually coming into their bingo rooms.

When you think about these factors, it’s easy to see why there are so many networked bingo sites around – particularly as online bingo is an industry that still promises expansion opportunities.

And whilst Operator benefits are all well and good, the question is: how do online bingo networks benefit players?

Player Benefits

It’s easier perhaps to think of some of the negative points of online bingo networks, particularly from a player’s point of view and we’ll come back to them later. However, there are some advantages.

Bigger Games:

Firstly, a player that plays at a networked online bingo site will have access to bigger games, as there is more liquidity in a networked room, due to players coming from multiple sources.

Like we said – if you have a room with 100 as opposed to 10 players, the jackpot will be bigger, the chat will hopefully be livelier and as a player, you are more likely to have a good time.

Software consistency and innovation:

Although it is perfectly valid to bemoan the lack of originality and the feeling of ‘same old, same old’ at networked online bingo sites, there are upsides to using a network. Software issues are dealt with by a company that knows what it’s doing, often leading to less kinks in the system than at a similar sized standalone site.

And when it comes to software innovation, some online bingo network providers are able to use the extra money from selling their services on to invest in better games for their users.

A great example of this is the appearance of big name games on online bingo sites on the Virtue Fusion network, which offer franchised games like Deal or No Deal, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and so on.

Likewise, Gamesys’ partnership with gaming provider PopCap offers up unique bingo versions of online favourites like Bejewelled Blitz – a move possible due to the extra funds in Gamesys’ coffers.

Of course, none of these benefits are without a downside – so what negative effects do online bingo networks have on players?

The Downsides of Online Bingo Networks:

Primarily, the biggest complaint is the overcrowded nature of networked sites. Because there is a pool of players coming from multiple sites, games can often be crowded – and what you make up for in big jackpot, you lose in the odds of actually winning it.

Real Choice?

Another frequent complaint is the lack of transparency over these networks. Because each site has the chance to skin their site accordingly, what looks like a totally unique and original online bingo site can turn out to be a carbon copy of another – giving a user a false sense of choice.

Although it is estimated that there are around 500 bingo sites out there, some 90% are generally networked in one way or another. And when you filter that down based on the number of networks in operation, it seems that although there is a superficial amount of choice, the reality is often different.

It’s easy to spot this cookie-cutter syndrome with some sites on the huge Dragonfish network (we’ll come back to the networks themselves later). Take the following example of Bingo Fabulous and Brits Bingo, both on the Dragonfish network.

Although the two homepages have a different look and feel, you’ll find the same content when you hit the promo page – that’s even before you log onto your account and enter the same shared lobby.

Sign up issues and multiple account problems

A final user frustration is that some networks have unfair rules regarding players who want to sign up to multiple sites on a network. Some networks will require you to sign up to one site only, whereas others will let you sign up to multiple sites.

The problem with multiple sign ups is if you ever have a problem with one site, you may find yourself in a dispute with all the other sites on that network.

Often this isn’t just to do with White Label Sites, but sites owned by the same parent company or operating on the same license.

Players at some Cassava sites have found that a ban at one site has led to bans across the board. It’s another thing for players to keep in mind, particularly if they haven’t paid attention to the finer print.

Should I play at a networked bingo site?

The whole world of online bingo networks can also be a confusing one, with many different types of networks that are off-putting to untangle, particularly if you are a player.

Some sites will have some shared rooms and some standalone rooms, some sites will only have networked rooms, some sites will run different promotions to others on the network whilst sharing others and some sites will run on similar software with rooms that are just open to players on that site.

In short, there is so much variation from network to network and site to site that sometimes, it is hard to pinpoint exactly which sites are what – but that doesn’t mean a player should avoid networked bingo sites completely.

Standalone sites are often standalone because they have a big enough player base to leverage. Which means some of the problems of a networked site, like overcrowded rooms, will still follow you to a standalone site. It’s not a case of being dogmatic and choosing to play at one or the other – but finding bingo sites that you like, full stop.

Awareness is always key and by having a scout around, players can sometimes easily establish which sites are networked, even if they don’t perhaps explicitly say so.

So what indicators are there that a site is networked?

Ways to spot a networked site:

We’ve already mentioned, you can get a sense of whether a site is networked or not by comparing lobbies or promotion pages. You can also tell the network a site is on when you login via the navigation bar on your browser:

Another tip is to look at the bottom of the homepage, where you’ll find payment types offered. Alongside these icons, you can find badges that will sometimes tell you whether the site is part of an online bingo network, as demonstrated below.

And perhaps the most longwinded approach is to check the terms and conditions of each site. However, to help out a little, we’ve compiled a brief overview of some of the biggest online bingo networks out there.

Bingo can be great fun – but it’s also great business as well. Despite massive growth in the last decade, online bingo is still an industry that has potential for expansion in terms of both players and operators. In figures published through Global Betting and Gaming Consultants, online bingo was set to grow to a $1 billion dollar industry in 2010, with over 100 million players worldwide.

If you have already had experience of playing online bingo, you would have noticed a huge choice of online bingo sites out there, with more being added each and every month. As a bingo portal, we are notified of anything from 2-6 new additions to the industry on a monthly basis.

Games are getting bigger as well, with big operators offering £100k jackpots for free; Britain’s biggest online bingo jackpot was no less than £500,000. Factor in the huge surge in online bingo slots and it’s easy to see there is plenty of cash floating around.

But this growth would not be possible without a rise in player numbers – which means that although the numbers are getting bigger in terms of winnings, the likelihood of winning is getting smaller. And what about the players who haven’t got the funds to stump up game after game? Well, that’s where bingo affiliate programs can make a real difference.

The Basics

Primarily, it’s important to look the basics behind bingo affiliate programs. The following guide has plenty of hints and tips to use your bingo knowledge to create an extra income – so let’s start with the real nuts and bolts of bingo affiliates.

What is a bingo affiliate?

A bingo affiliate is a site or person that has entered into an agreement (through signing up to a ‘affiliate program’) in order to bring new players through the doors of the bingo site. In return you as the bingo affiliate are rewarded in a number of different ways, which we will cover in this article.

Affiliates are people with sites that have agreed to use their site to promote a particular operator or bingo company, such as Foxy Bingo. So, when you decide to become a bingo affiliate, an agreement is set up where both parties can take a share in the revenue made from new players.

Take your standard refer-a-friend scheme – you get someone to sign up to a site and you’ll get a little thank you present in return. The same principle applies with online bingo affiliate programs. You sign up, start promoting the site(s) and in return, you’ll receive a share of the profits when you get people visiting and interested in that site.

It’s a two way street

The idea is a simple one – but this is a two way street. The operator gets increased awareness of their site without having to put in much effort. Affiliate marketing is also a very accountable form of marketing, where an operator theoretically only has to pay when they can see the results.

And compared to something like TV ad’s, affiliates can be much more integral to the continued success of an online bingo site, particularly in an area like online bingo, where community creation and engagement is so crucial to a site’s sustained success.

Sure enough, some big brands have opened up sites that promote their websites, effectively becoming affiliates for themselves, offering their own additional games to give roomies even more added value. Take this example of Bingo Brolly – an affiliate come loyalty site set up by Cashcade, the marketing company behind some of the UK’s biggest bingo sites, including Foxy Bingo, Cheeky Bingo and Think Bingo.

Bingo Brolly acts as a hub site for selected Cashcade brands, promoting their games without running them directly.

Some affiliates have even gone on to make their own online bingo sites – with big bingo affiliates like Which Bingo starting up their own bingo games, and sites like Costa Bingo spring boarding from a bingo portal. Proof indeed, that being a bingo affiliate can become really big business.

But it’s not all just about the online bingo site.

Like we said, it’s a two way street, and affiliate programs will provide their affiliates with special links so you can measure how many new signups you created and track how many First Time Depositors (FTD’s) you encourage.

They will also provide content and much more to help you get the message out and about, be it through your site, newsletter or blog. The resources provided will allow you to create interesting content to help promote the sites, without requiring you to do too much legwork. You won’t be running the site, you just have to spread the word. If done correctly, this can earn both parties involved some serious financial rewards.

So, now you know a little more about the world of affiliates, lets take a look at how you get started.

Getting Started

Firstly, you need a platform to promote from. So that means setting up a website or a blog – any sort of online space you’ll be able to use to add content about the sites you are interested in.

Once that’s in place, your next challenge is to scout around and find the best affiliate programs out there. There are two obvious ways around this in our view:

a) Find the sites you love to play at and sign up to their affiliate schemes.

b) Find the sites that offer the best deals and revenue and sign up to their affiliate schemes.

TIP: On the homepage of all bingo sites there is usually a link called ‘affiliates’; this will lead you to the signup agreement form

a) Find the sites you love to play at

Option a) is important because you’ll need to talk a little about your bingo sties of choice – and it makes sense to talk about sites that you like.

You know that phrase “if you haven’t got anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”?! This definitely applies in the world of affiliates. The idea is that you want to get players interested in a site, click through and sign up – so it naturally follows that you should use whatever experience you have in playing online bingo to add to that interest.

People respond to recommendations from other people – and what better recommendation than one you actually believe in!

b) Find the sites that offer the best deals

But at the same time, you need to consider what is in it for you, which is where option b) comes in.

After all, you’ll find that to make your site successful, you’ll need to put a bit of time and effort in. And there is no point wasting a lot of time and energy to pick up a disappointing payoff at the end. You can make a decent income from being an online bingo affiliate, particularly if you invest some time in your site and find the right affiliate programs that will reward you the right amount for all your hard work.

Research, research, research!

Our advice?! Take advantage of the three r’s – and in this case, that means research, research, research! Look around at online bingo sites, find their affiliate links and read up on what they have to offer you before signing up.

TIP: What we’d suggest doing is a combination of the two options, and have your cake and eat it. If you do your research, you’ll be able to find that most online bingo affiliate programs manage to combine a great site alongside a great sharing scheme.

Signing up

Once you scout around and decide on some sites and programs that you want to be part of, it’s time to sign up, verify and get on board!

Signing up isn’t too hard, with most affiliate schemes asking for a valid URL and a few details to be filled out on a simple form. You may have to wait a few days for your site to be verified by the bingo affiliate manager who manages all the affiliates and their sites. You will then need to set up payment instructions, but don’t worry, the process is quick and simple.

Take a look at the shot below of a simple affiliate sign up form for Foxy Bingo:

TIP: Sign up for newsletters available on each individual signup form. This makes keeping on top of all the latest games, prizes and winners much easier to include on your website.

Revenue Share vs. Cost Per Player options

Not all affiliate programs offer up different revenue options – but in some cases, you can choose how you generate money. This is decided through either how much the players you delivered spent, or a fixed cost per player you send. We have noticed more bingo affiliate programs are now simplifying things to help more affiliates get on board without feeling confused.

Generally, you are able to pick a method that best suits your need. As stated above, these options are:

a) Cost Per Player – a lump sums for every new player

b) Revenue Share – a % of player deposits

We’ll take a quick look at what that means for you below:

Cost Per Player – Lump Sum

When you sign up to an affiliate program, you’ll be provided with affiliate links and banners. Use these on your site to get players to click through to the bingo site in question, and voila, you’ll get a one off cash sum as a thank you. It’s the model that is most similar to the refer-a-friend scheme we talked about earlier.

The good points are that it’s easy enough to implement, and you get some instant results for your hard work. On the downside, you may find that there are only so many new sign ups you can generate – which doesn’t always give this option the most longevity.

Revenue Share – % of player deposits

The second general option is to receive a percentage of player deposits on an on-going basis. What this means is if a player signs up to a bingo site via your bingo review site and then goes on to make a deposit, you’ll receive money back for every deposit they make.

For example; if the player deposits £10, £3.50 of this could be yours. If you drive 10 players who all deposit £10 you have earned £35!

On the upside, you’ll be able to generate a more steady income. However, it’s a little trickier to convince a player to keep depositing at a bingo site – particularly when there are so many new bingo sites around offering some tempting sign up schemes.

Top tip: Sometimes, a program will offer both options, in which case, you’ve hit the jackpot and got the best of both worlds. Alternatively, to save putting all your bingo balls in one basket, you might want to consider picking and mixing across a selection of sites to maximise your options.

There’s really no right or wrong way to go about it – so just consider what will suit you better and that way, you can make an informed decision.

Promoting your site

So, here comes the real challenge – getting your opinions out and about. Like we mentioned briefly before, affiliate programs are great because they give you a lot of the content you’ll need for promotion.

Things to look out for include (but not limited to):

a) Affiliate Link URLs

b) Banners and ads

c) Promotional copy

We’ll take you through these quickly:

Affiliate Link URLs

These will be your own special URLs that will identify you when a user clicks on them through to your bingo site of choice. It’s the way your referrals are tracked – so if someone clicks through to a site and signs up via your URL, you will be paid for it.

Top Tip: Be sure to use these URLs when referring people, otherwise your efforts will go unnoticed – and therefore, unrewarded.

Banners and ads

Bingo sites and affiliate programs will work hard to provide some interesting looking banner ads for you to put on your site. Again, it’s another way of tracking your players, with each banner containing a link that can be measured by number of clicks – so make sure you use them appropriately.

Top Tip: try not to clutter your site with too many ads as it will ultimately annoy your readers. Remember, you normally dislike seeing a webpage chock full with ads, so make sure you offer the same environment for visitors to your site.

Promotional Copy:

If you already play online bingo, you’ll know there is a huge array of new promotions added every single day to various sites. Be sure to read newsletters and check the resources area of your affiliate program homepage, as there will be up to date information regarding new and upcoming games. It’s the perfect way to gain a little inspiration to write interesting and relevant articles, and most of the hard work is done for you anyway.

Don’t forget to make it your own!

Make sure you are offering your own opinions on stuff happening in the bingo world. This includes your own reviews of the online bingo sites you are promoting, sharing your experiences and offering up to date information that is not just a carbon copy of what is already available. You want to be able to offer players a reason for clicking from your site to another, so make sure you use whatever experience you have playing bingo to your advantage. Whether it’s funny, up to date or relevant content (or a combination of all three) – make sure you make it your own.

Top tip: be sure to think about your favourite blogs and why you love them, and adapt those principles to your own site. Maybe it’s when someone replies in the comments section, or maybe it’s through giveaways – don’t be afraid to be creative when coming up with ideas!
